A bit of history...

Chair massage is a blend of ancient and modern techniques, being rooted in traditional Chinese and Japanese practices like acupressure (anma).

It evolved in the 1980s as American therapist David Palmer adapted these techniques for a seated position, making massage therapy more accessible in workplaces and public events.

A bit about meridians...

The meridian theory is a key concept in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), describing energy channels, or meridians, through which life energy (qi) flows, crucial for health and balance.

There are 12 main meridians linked to specific organs like the lungs, kidneys, heart, and liver, plus 8 extra meridians that play a supportive role. Blockages in these pathways, according to TCM, can cause illness or imbalance.

While modern science has not found anatomical evidence, the meridian theory remains important in holistic and energetic medicine, valued worldwide for its positive effects. According to the meridian theory, blockages in the energy channels can cause health problems.

By applying pressure to specific points (acupressure massage), these blockages are released, allowing the life energy to flow again, which can have a healing effect on both physical and emotional levels.
